KOREAN PHONE MAKER Samsung has begun rolling out Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) to the Samsung Galaxy Note, owners of the ‘phablet’ across Europe are reporting.

samsung-galaxy-note-smartphone-tablet-android-gingerbread-stylusCustomers in Germany and the Netherlands are reporting that the Android 4.0 ICS update has arrived on their Galaxy Note handsets, although Samsung has yet to say whether the update is rolling out to Galaxy Note users in the UK, telling The INQUIRER that it will “confirm details regarding the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy Note in due course”.

Still, it’s certainly an update worth waiting for though, as it will bring “premium” new content to the 5.3in tablet and smartphone hybrid, including a card-making app called ‘My Story’ and exclusive Angry Birds Space game content.

The update, which users are reporting is 319.6MB, also furnishes the Galaxy Note with a newer version of Samsung’s Touchwiz interface, an improved web browser and a number of performance enhancements.

Galaxy Note owners in Blighty can only hope to see the software update arrive here soon.
